Little Sisters to Terrorize Rapture

There are now three confirmed pieces of information about BioShock 2:
- It will take place 7 years after the original.
- It will take place in Rapture.
- It will have Big Sisters.
...yeah.
The fact that it's Big Sisters and not Big Mommas means that they're likely the Little Sisters, all growed up, as opposed to just women in the diving suits. Actually, some of the Big Daddies had female names, so it was more of a title, anyway.
So,what do you think? Gameplay-wise obviously they will be faster, and likely smarter, but what would cause the rescued Little Sisters to become Big Sisters? What horrors have been brewing under the sea since we last left Rapture? Has it gotten...worse?
