Lord of the Rings: Online Book 13 Screenshots

First Information About Forchel

by Coop

Turbine has released a few screenshots and information about Book 13, the next free update to Lord of the Rings: Online. Taking place in Forochel, a new region which lies in the far, frozen north of Eriador, the update promises to let players see the ocean for the first time and will introduce “temperature based landscape effects.”

No, I don’t know what that means either. My guess is a chance for your player to slip during combat, snow blinding players and lowering their accuracy, or needing to return to a camp every so often or take damage due to the cold. Then again, there is a good chance it just means there will be loud wind noises – who knows?

Every few days I eye up the Lord of the Rings: Online icon on my computer, wondering what wonders I am missing in Middle Earth. Despite being turned down over and over again, I still ask FemJesse if she would play again, to no avail. If anyone wants to comment on her page and explain why should give the game another shot I suggest they do so, because I ‘aint getting no where. The screenshots are below and the new area looks awesome, I hope to visit them some time soon.
