Lost Planet 2 Announced
Secret Xbox Live Announcement Revealed
by Coop
Following the cryptic Twitter teases, Capcom has released a nearly eight minute long trailer for Lost Planet 2, which includes not only gameplay, but a brief Q&A with the game’s producer. From the looks of things, this isn’t the DLC or Xbox Theme some expected, nor Taint, Capcom’s mysterious project. Gamervision's support group for Taint fans will be starting shortly, but I suppose Lost Planet 2 will have to do. Here's what we know do far:
The game takes place on the same planet as the original, which is still decidedly lost, but also much, much warmer. As opposed to the snowy desolate environments of the first, the sequel will feature varied locations such as jungles and deserts. The story is also quite different from the original's, and will follow groups of pirates located around the planet, as opposed to being one character's story.
Also confirmed is the addition of cooperative play, and if the trailer is any indication, Capcom has brought to life an actual game based on all of the dreams I've been having of a co-op Shadow of the Colossus. Taking down giant bugs with friends online sounds like it could be just the thing to turn this series into something worth paying more attention to. They didn't state how many players to co-op would support, though the trailer certainly looks to show four, but that's mere speculation.
The producer stated that most of the trailer is in-engine, which likely means it was all in-engine, but with heavy video filters applied after the fact. Hopefully it lives up to its potential, because this trailer even has this Lost Planet hater drooling. No platform or release date were given, but with the movie in still in pre-production I wouldn't be suprised if the game was a long ways off.

from what i played of the demo it was a fun game but i could see where a lot of improvements were needed. Wonder if it will be multi platform or not.
I like monsters that are lava on the inside. It's so decidedly impractical for evolution.
"How should I adapt to this frigid ice planet? Oh I know! I'll be on fire all the time!!!"
that trailer is pretty impressive looking, the environments look pretty good and i like that mobile wall you can put up.
