Games get confirmed in the strangest of ways these days. Last week, Portal creator Kim Swift mistakenly said that Portal 2 was previously announced while being interviewed with G4, thus announcing it herself. Now, a Lost Planet sequel is confirmed by the entire Xbox 360 achievement list being leaked onto the internet.

Ouch. Good job, guys.

The title, Lost Planet: Colonies, hasn’t even been mentioned by Capcom. When reached for comment they stated "Information on Capcom's new Lost Planet title will be coming next week." I guess this is one way to get their attention. The full list of achievements is located below, but be aware that as the game isn't even announced yet this is subject to change.

I never really saw the draw of the original Lost Planet. It had the graphics to pull me in, but when I am dropped in a destroyed city with a grappling hook I want to be able to explore. There were invisible walls at every turn, and I felt like the game was limiting me whenever I wanted to enjoy it. Sure, fighting giant alien bugs is always cool, but after a while I felt like it wasn’t worth the effort. Hopefully these issues will be addressed in the sequel.
