Max Payne 3 Due Late 2010

Take-Two Pushes Max Around

Max Payne 3
was originally supposed to be out this year. When it was delayed, no one was really all that shocked. Rockstar loves pushing out trailers for their games introducing everyone from the main character to the bathroom attendant, and there was nothing to be found except a few screenshots and a teaser site. However, this second delay is somewhat more unexpected, as the publisher has confirmed that Max won't be slowing down time until the second half of 2010. Poop.

In a conference call today, Take-Two discussed the release dates of their AAA 2010 titles. BioShock, Mafia II, and Red Dead Redemption are all on target for their releases, dropping within the next few months. Max Payne 3? Not so much.

Here's a quote:

Take-Two noted that it has a strong pipeline of titles that remain on plan for launch in 2010, including BioShock 2, Mafia II, Max Payne 3 and Red Dead Redemption. BioShock 2 is on target for a global release on February 9, 2010, and Red Dead Redemption is planned for April 27, 2010. Mafia II is scheduled to follow during the first half of calendar 2010, and Max Payne 3 is now planned for release during the fourth quarter of fiscal 2010.

There's still little known about the game, but I'm optimistic. The last two were some of the best third-person shooters of their time, pushing a story good enough to make a pseudo-watchable film. It's also filled with slow-motion, which is sort of the best thing ever. Hopefully the sequel will be as good as other Rockstar properties as of recent, since we could absolutely use more Max Payne this generation.

Alright, the movie kind of sucked. Yeah. Not the game's fault, though, totally not the game.
