Merchants of Brooklyn Mistakenly Released in Alpha
Developer Rights Wrongs Quickly
by Coop

Early this week the Cryengine 2-driven indie FPS, Merchants of Brooklyn, was released on Valve's Steam. The outcry was immediate. It seems that the game didn't manage to live up to what gamers expect from a release, even when the independent nature is factored in, and was completely and utterly broken.
A quickly reply from the developers at Paleo revealed that they mistakenly sent the Alpha build instead of the final release, and that anyone who has downloaded it will already have an updated version as of this time. Still, I'm sure it left a bad taste in a few mouths, especially the ones at Valve, who have yet to issue any response.
However, reports are still coming in of the game's sustained buggy nature. Apparently even the full, working version is still a little too damaged for some people, and unless they released a beta build this time it looks like it's up to good old patchwork to save Merchants of Brooklyn.
Has anyone downloaded the game? Any initial reactions?
