Modern Warfare 2 Patch Out for Certification
Exploiters Be Damned
by Coop

Today, Infinity Ward's Robert Bowling made some important announcements via Twitter, the world's most reliable source for gaming news in under 140 characters. He has revealed that a fix for Modern Warfare 2 is finished, and out of the developer's hands. Apparently, they've sent it off to Microsoft and Sony for certification, which should mean that the update should be live very soon. Or, you know, it might take a few days. Microsoft and Sony are really busy this time of the year counting money.
The patch moves Modern Warfare 2 to version 1.06, and fixes several issues that have hindered the multiplayer experience in the past week. Changes include removal of the notorious javelin glitch and some issues with care packages. They've also improved the geography in hopes of fixing exploitable terrain that allowed players to get to areas they weren't supposed to, such as some of the rocks in Afghan. No, not on top of the scaffolding in the rooftop level - that's actually intentional. I know, we haven't figured out how to do it either.
We'll update once it's live, so you'll know it's safe to play again.
