Monster Hunter Tri Release Date Set for April

Demo Coming to Gamestop

by Coop

Today, Capcom announced an official date for Monster Hunter Tri, as well as information on the online multiplayer and a demo. Yes, that's right, a demo for the Wii. Welcome to the current generation, everyone, it's just swell. Fans of Capcom's series should be happy to know that a release is just around the corner, with the title arriving on store shelves on April 20, 2010. They won't have to wait until then to play it, though, as a demo disk will be in Gamestops on March 8th. As if that wasn't enough, there's also some news on the game's online component that should make fans of monsters and hunting weak in the knees.

Not only will the game be online for free, but it will have Wii Speak support, meaning everyone can scream at each other from across the room over the internet. While I'm not the biggest fan of the Monster Hunter series, it's good to see Capcom taking advantage of every element of the Wii in order to make the game feel as modern as possible. Sure, the online might not be up to snuff with the PS3 and Xbox 360's, but most companies seem to ignore it's even part of the system, including Nintendo. If anything was needed (beyond more accessible gameplay, that is) to make Tri a success in the US, competent online multiplayer should do the trick. The Classic Controller Pro bundle shouldn't hurt either.

We'll have more soon, so be sure to check back for all of your Nintendo related needs. I know you have them, we all do, it's alright, don't be ashamed.
