Thought 2K was done pushing out downloadable content for Borderlands? Wrong. Hot off of the heels of The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned comes Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot, due out on January 7th. However, when compared to the package in Dr. Ned, this one is a little... suspicious. It's $9.99, which is extremely high considering it only comes with three additional levels. The strange thing is that it does actually have an element that would make it worth the cost if it weren't so sinister: a bank system.

The only problem is that, just as was the case with Dragon Age: Origins, there absolutely should have been something like this in the original. This marks the second game this year holding important elements as downloadable content, and it's something I can't say I like very much. This isn't a new weapon or a new vehicle, it's something that was missing from the original, and absolutely should have been patched in to existing players, not sold to us. This sort of thing puts Horse Armor to shame, and makes Yaris look like a wise purchase. Sure, it will make the gameplay experience better (technically), but it sets a horrible president.

2K Games Announces Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot, the Next Explosive Piece of Downloadable Content for Borderlands™
