Bethesda has released a new cinematic trailer for Brink, featuring the game's fantastic style and wonderful environments. The character's animations are obviously not in-game, though it shows what the developers hope to accomplish with the free-running mechanics in the shooter. Taking the concepts behind Mirror's Edge and making them work in a real FPS sounds like a dream come true. When it comes to visuals, however, hopefully the final game has at least the same aesthetic appeal as this, because I'm sold on it based on the costumes alone. Hell, I'm considering going to try and buy a mask like the one guy has in the trailer. It's like the Scarecrow's, except somehow even creepier. Take a look.

There are a lot of concepts I like about Brink. Few of them, however, are really explained in this video. There are some interesting cooperative gameplay mechanics involved and really interesting multiplayer ideas, but a bunch of people free-running and shooting each other doesn't convey that. It conveys how cool it's going to be while running around and free-running, but that's about it. Hopefully we'll hear more about the game soon, since it has the potential to be one of the more unique looking FPS in development right now. Odds are Bethesda can't put out another Rogue Warrior this soon, right?
