New Fallout Concept Art and Developer Diary
I Don't Want to Set the World On Fire...
by Coop

My most anticipated title of 2008 is Fallout 3 for many reasons, not the least of which is the style. Bethesda did a great job creating the melancholy world of the original Fallout, and the concept art released today is an indicator of how good of a job they are doing adapting the world to this generation. Posted here is just a few of the screenshots, which can be clicked on to expand the images to a larger size. Even the character sketches look cool and stylish, which says a lot for a company whose most recent game was Oblivion, which didn't really drip of style.
They also updated their website with a new developer diary, entitled Conceptual Design, which is worth a read for anyone who is anticipating Fallout 3. Concept artist Adam Adamowicz details the creation process behind some of the game’s elements, including the creation of the mutants, weapons, and architecture.
"Fashion is all about accessorizing. Fallout 3 is no exception from both a technical aspect and a story vehicle. The costume designs became a statement on scavenging the remains of the past in a way that would combine civilian garb with a more warlike, survivalist sensibility."
This game is going to be massive, and at the very least amazing to explore and look at. More images can be found on the Fallout 3 webpage, and we will keep you posted on all post-apocalyptic news as it arrives.
