New MadWorld Trailer Shows Variety

Driving Around Like a Mad Man!

by Coop

Sega has released a new trailer for MadWorld, showing off plenty of new environments and gameplay styles for their M-Rated Wii-based Murder-Simulator. One of the only complaints I had about Platinum Games' title (other than a disgusting lack of Gary Jules) was the lack of variety. The trailers that were shown, the demos that were played, and the screenshots and videos were all showing off the same level and combat. We get it; he can shove a sign through someone’s head. We get it; he can throw a guy into a wall of spikes. We get it, the game is black and white.

Even at E3 the level we saw was the same as everything shown, and it looked like the game was going to be a one-trick-pony. Luckily, appearances can be deceiving, and the new trailer shows off plenty of new levels, new enemies, and new things to smash people into. My excitement dwindled, but is now back in full force with the addition of driving segments – which seem like a natural fit to the game. MadWorld is currently scheduled for a Q1 2009 release and check back next week for more news from Sega at the Penny-Arcade Expo.

i just cant seem to get excited over this game.. Could be my intense dislike of the Wii, it could be that i think on another system with better controls and an actual controller this could be great, for the wii i think it will just be good

I think the black and white evokes a Sin City feel, which makes me want to go out and make the world very, very bloody.
