Nintendo Has E3 Plans for Core Gamers

Define Core...?

by Coop

Nintendo is really pumped for E3, and think we should be too. In a recent interview with Gamepro Magazine, Marc Franklin, director of public relations at Nintendo of America, stated that Nintendo “will be announcing several new titles that core gamers will be interested in around the time of E3." When asked for clarification as to what type of gamers he considered core, he replied, "The clear majority of people waiting in line outside retailers on Sunday mornings to buy their Wii consoles are core gamers."

So far they really don’t have anything announced for 2008 that really gets me excited, but with Reggie and Franklin consistently pumping their unannounced E3 lineup I expect to see great things in July. My guess is a bunch of their franchises that haven’t yet been brought back being announced, like Star Fox, Pikmin, and Kid Icarus. Then again, I’d say that most “core” gamers already have their Wii, so saying that the people waiting outside of retailers on Sunday mornings is core scares me. Either way, be sure to check back on Gamervision for all of your E3 updates, including hands-on with all of Nintendo’s newest titles as we are live on the show floor.
