Dun Dun Dun Dun Dun!

Remember that Konami teaser site some mysterious a Metal Gear Solid title that turned out to be both Peace Walker and Metal Gear Solid: Rising? If not, here's an image from it, and here's the article we wrote as we stared blankly at flashing letters and numbers for hours on end trying to figure out what the hell it was. Above, we snapped an image of what was either an "s" or the number "5." Once the games were announced, it was assumed it was the "S" from "Solid," and the case was closed. Well, apparently it was actually a 5, for "Metal Gear Solid 5." Yeah, it was originally the next sequential game in the series.
It has been said in the past that it was going to be "an MGS5-class game," by Hideo Kojima, and apparently this is one of the reasons why. According to Kotaku, who spoke with Konami spokesperson Jirou Oishi, Peace Walker was named Metal Gear Solid 5 during the planning stages. They even have logos, which are posted below.

So what does this mean? It means that Kojima's promises of the MGS5-class game isn't just a PR line. It was actually supposed to be a full Metal Gear title, which means it will have the same (or similar) gameplay, an epic story, and add a lot to the series. It also means that Metal Gear Solid fans have an actual reason to pick it up, along with a PSP. The game is due out in April for Japan, and May for America. Cue dramatic Metal Gear Solid music.
