Pipe Mania to XBLA, PSP, DS, Ect

Pay for a Hacking Minigame!

by Coop

Do you remember the first time you hacked a Sentry Droid in BioShock? I do, and I was a little confused. I remembered a game I used to play on the PC called Pipe Mania, and the hacking mini-game was a direct copy of it. I also had to wonder how rerouting sewage would take over a droid, but I got over it. As the game went on I became increasingly bored with it and would spend all of my money buying auto-hack tools to skip the process.

Well, for a few dollars, I can now hack droids nonstop. Developer Empire Interactive has announced that they are bringing Pipe Mania to the Xbox Live Arcade, PSP, PS2, DS, and Wii. It doesn’t look like much has changed since the game was released in 1989 in terms of gameplay or graphics, but the developer promises upgrades and new game mechanics to keep the 19 year old game feeling fresh.

Pipe Mania
is scheduled for a release on the Nintendo DS, PSP, PS2 and PC in June, with the Wii and XBLA versions due out in September. If you don’t feel like waiting that long or popping BioShock in for another play, do a simple search online and find dozens of free versions of the title to play. Thank God it is being remade - we need this.
