A few weeks back we posted a wicked-awesome video of the next game in the PixelJunk line. The developers, apparently too whacked out on whatever drugs inspired PixelJunk Eden, couldn't come up with a name on their own, and asked the community for help.

Well, they've picked the winner, and it was PixelJunk Shooter. Yeah.

Something tells me they weren't planning on picking anything but that name all along, especially since some of the runner-ups were much more original and fitting, while being decidedly less on-the-nose. The most common name, they say, was PixelJunk Elements, which mentions the fact that fire and water meet in the game. It didn't capture the "shooter" feel of the game, apparently, so they went with Shooter instead.

I personally love the idea of calling it PixelJunk Atlantis. Sure, Eden is the only game in the series to have that theme running through it, but it beats the crap out of PixelJunk Shooter. Hopefully the game manages to be better than the name, because I'm a little disappointed they choose the most obvious (and most bland) name submitted.

At least the logo rocks...
