Pixeljunk Monsters Gets Free Update
New Modes, Youtube Support, a Cup Holder
by Coop
Sony has announced that Q-Games will be updating Pixeljunk Monsters with new content, for the appealing cost of free, in the near future. They plan on rebalancing a few towers, adding YouTube video upload support (up to 10 minutes), and a creating a few new difficulty levels, so the game's punishing later stages might be more tolerable for casual gamers. The cool thing is that "Rainbows," which are unlocked for finishing a level without losing a life, will be granted even for completing the title on the lowest setting. The bar has dropped lower, friends, we can now all hurdle it together.
They have also added support for Custom Playlists and Trophies, for all of those Trophy whores out there, so you can start grinding to get them all and brag to friends. The video above is of one of the developers being really, really excited about the changes, and you can check out the PlayStation Blog for more information. I haven’t touched the game in some time, and with the holiday rush upon us I don’t know if I’ll have time to anytime soon, but I’m happy to see one of my favorite PSN games is getting the support it deserves.
