Popcap's Plants vs. Zombies might be the casual publisher's best game of recent memory, bringing the eternal struggle of plants and zombies to the focal point of public attention. As of now, however, the game has remained planted (SEE WHAT I DID THERE?!) on computers. This is about to change, as PopCap's Garth Chouteau confirmed with WorthPlaying that the historical botany simulation is en route to Xbox Live.

The game really felt best suited with a mouse, but I'm sure Popcap will be able to adapt it well for consoles. Hopefully they'll add some features too, like they did with Peggle, to further justify the purchase I'm going to make either way. Some sort of multiplayer would likely work, and I'm sure they could pull something off. Maybe some new zombies, too. There can always be more zombies.

There's no release date or further information, but expect to hear more soon.
