TGS 08: Resident Evil 5 Given Release Date

As I type this I'm hearing constant updates from the several different windows I have open, constantly refreshing different LiveBlogs (with people who actually speak Japanese) to cover all news from the Tokyo Game Show, so I'll make this short. Resident Evil 5, which was originally due out this year, has been given an official release date of March 12. Boo-eraaaains.
I don't consider this a delay, really, since a firm date was never given, but it is disappointing that we wont be able to get anymore time with RE5 until 2009. They showed a new trailer at the show, which isn't on the interwebs yet, but expect to hear more from Japan in the coming days. I loved what I played at E3, and unless there is some strange, horrible addition that I haven't seen the game is sure to please RE4 fans.

I've had March 12th as shipping and Friday, March 13th as the actual release in my calendar since August. I thought this was a firm date but I guess I had grabbed it on a rumor site or something.

Release dates tend to slip out a lot before announcements are made... but I guess it's not real until you hear it from an official source. Either way, woo! March isn't so far away. I may even have finished the mountain of games I'm going to buy this winter by then!
I'd wait until March 2010 for this game.
If all goes according to plan it'll be out on my birfday. Perfect excuse not to have to pay with my own money...
