Resident Evil: Directors Cut Seeing PSN Release
Return to the Mansion on May 28th
by Coop

For $9.99, PSN users will be able to download Resident Evil: Directors cut this Thursday, May 28th. For those keeping score at home, this marks the umpteenth time the game will see a remake or re-release. Newer releases might have moved away from the fixed-camera survival horror feel, but it's still worth going back to the roots from time to time. In fact, watching some footage of the original reminded me that Resident Evil in fact starred zombies back then.
Who knew?
To be honest, and I'm sure I might be throwing myself under the bus here, I can't stand going back and playing PS1 era games. They look so...dated. Even the pixels of the Super Nintendo and Nintendo are more playable nowadays than the original Resident Evil and games of that generation. Some games still hold up, like Super Mario 64, but others, especially the earlier ones, just... don't. Am I alone in this?

"Meh" on this one, guys. I'm sorry, but if they're going to release something like this onto the PSN, they should up the graphics just a hair OR they can use the remake that they made for the Gamecube for this release.
