Retro Game Ad Sunday: Earthbound
Pull My Finger?
by Coop

Happy Sunday everyone! Welcome to a new weekly feature called "Retro Game Ad Sunday." I think it pretty much speaks for itself, but if not, here's the pitch: we scanned in a bunch of old advertisements from Gamepros, Nintendo Powers, and other magazines of yesteryear. Since they're usually pretty funny and corny, we figured we'd share them with everyone. Why Sunday? Why not!
I figured I'd commemorate Earthbound being awesome by using it for this week. To be honest, this advertisement kind of sucks, and doesn't do the whimsical RPG justice, but, hey, take what you can get. If you haven't played Earthbound i'd say it's about time you drop whatever you're holding and find a copy. I think it's coming to the Virtual Console soon, so you'll have no excuse at all.
What did everyone do this weekend? I spent it relaxing, enjoying the snow and playing about 10 different games for 20 minutes at a time. It's been an ADD weekend to be sure. It's like I'm turning my life into Wario Ware, and that's sort of fine with me.

So far this weekend I finished Modern Warfare 2's campaign and dove back into Brutal Legend. I also went back to my elf ranger in D&D, who I missed terribly. I'm also all about the holiday season, wrapping presents and watching Christmas movies. Oh, and I suppose I should take care of that one game I have left to review before I start Zelda: Spirit Tracks.
This ad was actually scratch n' sniff, which made it ten times cooler.
