Retro Game Ad Sunday: Stargate
That's Right, There Was a Stargate Game

Series Retro Game Ad Sunday

Happy Sunday everyone! Welcome to "Retro Game Ad Sunday." I think it pretty much speaks for itself, but if not, here's the pitch: we scanned in a bunch of old advertisements from Gamepros, Nintendo Powers, and other magazines of yesteryear. Since they're usually pretty funny and corny, we figured we'd share them with everyone. Why Sunday? Why not!
I'm not going to talk much about the ad for the Stargate video game above. Instead, I'm just going to repeat what's already on the image.
- Battle Ra's Morphing Henchmen!
- Desert Dogfight in a Stolen Glider!
- C'Neil Heats Up the Palace Guards!
- Firefights in the Streets of Nagada!
So, yeah, I would have killed a hundred children to own this, if I had known how cool it was, when I was 8.
What did you do this weekend? Spend it starting at "Could not connect to game" in Bad Company 2? Throw a dart at a board to decide which version of Final Fantasy XIII to buy? Change your Xbox Live Gamertag to include your sexual orientation?

Oh Acclaim/LJN. It was pretty suck-ass. It was also very VERY similar to the "Warlock" game they published (based on shitty fantasy horror movie), in the way that Contra felt like Rush n' Attack. On a side note I suspect "Warlock" was originally supposed to be the "Army of Darkness" game Acclaim advertised just a few months prior.
