GamesTM magazine has reported that they have reason to believe that the PC indie hit Audiosurf will soon find itself on the Xbox Live Arcade. During the Game Developers Conference, the game’s creators stated they would definitely explore options involving porting the series to consoles or iPods, and this should serve as a reaffirmation that they are at least considering it.

This does bring up the problem of how it will work, as the game relies on MP3s to create content. I would guess the game would be downloadable, like all other Xbox Live titles are, and players will be able to use music on their Xbox hard drive or any other input, like portable storage or even CDs. I also have to wonder if the game will ship with the Orange Box soundtrack like the original did, as it will not be released by EA or on a Valve owned platform.

Either way, this is exciting news for gaming fans and music aficionados alike, and anyone who hasn’t picked up the PC version should definitely keep their eyes peeled for this one. Back when I reviewed the title I called it one of the best independent games I had ever played, and to this day I stand by that claim. I don’t see myself redownloading it just to try it on the Xbox 360, but I definitely support anything to make this amazing title more popular.
