Rumor: DSi to Receive Handheld Virtual Console
The Handheld's Value Gains Merit
by Coop

Rumors are coming in that the DSi will follow in the Wii's footsteps of offering a Virtual Console of sorts. In the handhelds's case, however, the downloadable titles will reach back to Nintendo's other portable titles, allowing for Gameboy and Gameboy Advance games to be downloaded for a nominal fee. So far nothing is completely confirmed, and there are conflicting reports about whether or not it will be streaming off the internet or reliant on the SD memory slot, but hopefully it will all be explained soon.
So far, this is only sorta-confirmed for Japan, and Nintendo has stressed that this is, as of now, region protected, but that might change tomorrow during their GDC keynote. For me, this means one thing and one thing only: Mother 3 might still get a release in America.
Please?
We'll be sure to keep you updated, and be sure to check back for a hands-on with the DSi when it's released in America in a few weeks.

That's intriguing, but still not enough to make me get a DSi... yet.
Comix Zone on a handheld...LEGALLY!? That's something to celebrate if it's true!
Sounds really awesome!
dammit, i'm going to have to chuck my ds out of the 3rd story window to rationalize getting a DSi, and while it may be tempting, i love my mario red far too much
at game stop we have already changed all of the Nintendo point cards and Nintendo sd cards to say wii/dsi so i am pretty sure this is a bit more than a rumor at this point.
