Rumor: EA to Debut Sports Peripherals at E3
Like, Waggle or Something?

Electronic Arts' David McCarthy has stated during his GDC Paris speech that he could see Rock Band-style bundles for EA Sports games within the next year or so. He mentioned that he agrees with the general consensus that that this is a risky maneuver that shouldn’t be done unless they have truly pushed the envelope with their title.
"So, you know, a Rock Band box is cool, but it's big and it's expensive. ...You've got to be careful with that approach. It's obviously appealing to a large audience, but you've got to be careful. It's not always the solution you want to do."
I don’t know what kind of controller they could be planning to add, since there isn’t really anything sports-related I can think of that would be as natural as a drum kit for a drum game. However, with a company as innovative as EA they are bound to think of something that doesn’t just rip us off, right? Right?
Right?
He also talked about the Wii’s controller, and how they have been working on ways to use the Wii remote differently in their sports games, which is good news for basketball fans hoping that NBA 09 isn’t as much of a train wreck as NBA 08 was. Word on the street is that all of this will be revealed (or not) at E3 next month, so be sure to stay tuned as we will be liveblogging the EA Press Event from the show.
