Savage Moon Comes Out Tomorrow
Towers Defend from Bugs on the PSN
by Coop
Fluffylogic's Savage Moon has been announced to be coming out tomorrow, which is good news for everyone with any god damned sense. Sorry, I don't mean to sound angry, I'm just really, really excited. The video above shows off the sci-fi tower defense (or tower defence, if you're British) game as best as it can be shown, with virtual bullets ripping apart bugs so beautifully that Casper Van Dien might shed a tear of joy.
Just kidding, Rico don't cry.
According to the blog posting/official announcement, it's going to cost $9.99 and should be available in a matter of hours. In the meantime, I suggest watching the three Starship Trooper films (in any order, really) to prepare yourself. Every time the game was brought up in Gamervision's office at least one or two Starship Troopers jokes were thrown, and in the PlayStation Blog posting the developer finally admitted that they were inspired by Verhoeven's masterpiece:
"In terms of the style of the game – given that we had decided on massive insects – it almost went without saying…we were hugely inspired by ‘Starship Troopers‘ which has been a firm film favourite for years. I especially like the different types of bugs that appeared and this inspired us in the range of different creatures that appear in our game. In keeping with the xeno-biological theme, the Insectocytes evolve throughout the game, with each wave becoming tougher, and the creatures mutating into new forms to meet the human threat."
Awesome. Check back soon for Gamervision's full review, which will only be a video review if the game happens to slip in a co-ed shower scene as tastefully as the film did.
Just kidding, the movie didn't do it tastefully at all. Was hot, though. Very, very hot. Kinda creepy, but hot.

dude, you can never go wrong with insects as an alien race. Look at the Metroid games and probably countless othersXD XD
Star Ship Troopers, my ass XD
I'm recalling a sci-fi movie where we learn that our Earth insects are actually extra terrestrials that were stranded here from an asteroid eons ago. Does anyone else remember that plot or am I making shit up again?
I believe you, but I'm going to go ahead and say you're making it up. Ass.
