Shooter fans rejoice! One of the most unappreciated FPS titles of the last generation, Serious Sam, is being brought to Xbox Live in "Glorious High Definition." For those who don't know, Serious Sam was a lot like Duke Nukem or Doom, save for the fact that it simply didn't give a shit. There were dozens of strange enemies on screen at once, massive, insane bosses, and a plot that wasn't much more than "holy crap kill stuff!" Besides getting a graphical overhaul, it's coming to the Xbox Live Arcade with four player cooperative play, meaning the game may finally be getting the fan base it has always deserved.

They're not just stretching it - they're remaking it. They've added objects, redone textures, and nearly started the game over. I can't remember the last time this much detail was put into a remake of a game, since usually they just bump it to 1080p and call it a day. I'm looking at you, Doom and Marathon.

Anyone else super excited for this remake? I was happy when I heard Duke Nukem was being brought to XBLA, but this one really gets me pumped. I'm ready to shoot giant monsters online at the end of the summer, are you?

Classic Shooter Franchise Reborn in Glorious High Definition for Late Summer Release

Legions of long-time fans and a whole new generation of gamers around the world can now experience serious shooting mayhem as Majesco Europe, an innovative provider of video games for the mass market, today announced that Serious Sam: The First Encounter HD is coming to Xbox LIVE® Arcade for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft.
