A new trailer has been released for skate 2, and for the first fifty seconds you might be able to be convinced that it is actually from the original. It isn't until the end that we see the new features like moving objects in the world and getting off of your skateboard. These were really the only complaints I had about the original when it came out, and it is great to see EA responding to customer criticism and creating the experience that we asked for, instead of the one they decided we wanted.
Honestly, other than some better graphics and more customization, what else could we want from a skating game? I guess including true, online cooperative play would be the next step for the franchise. I don't know, maybe some better multiplayer modes or collision detection? The original skate did so much right that I can’t think of much that needs to be added. Scooters? Mopeds? BMX? I got nothing.
Anyone have any ideas?

i would like to see a deeper online system. Maybe have bigger worlds where more skaters could just "skate" around. Something more than 4 players in a tiny space doing tricks. It was a good idea but expand that to a bigger area and more people from online and that sounds like a blast.
I agree Mellow, 100%. I just want more skating, that's why I love this trailer. Getting off the board? Moving crap around? AWESOME.

Yeah, she only got off the board long enough to actually move the bench. It still looks like you're going to be joined at the instep to the board, and that just doesn't wow me.
I'm a Tony Hawk guy for life. Skating games are more fun than a skating simulator.
I could never get into the Tony Hawk games, I want realism, I dont want to jump in the air, freeze time, pull a 10.000 point combo and then land.
This game should hopefully be great, the first one was such a great refreshing game, a game that was long overdue for all us who enjoy skating. Plus, doing tricks with the analog stick owns just hitting random buttons.
The Tony games were skateboarding games but not really. I mean skateboarding was actually the smallest part of the game, it was overshadowed by all the crap you had to do. Collect skate, jump over these 5 buildings, etc. etc.
I had to stop myself from clapping and cheering after seeing the moveable objects. I can't wait.
I loved the first one, and I'm sure to love this one. I just hope there are branching story paths so you don't get stuck not being able to advance should you not be able to hit one incredibly frustrating trick. As to the chick being stuck to the board, the game is still months away from release, so I'm not too worried about it. I didn't miss not being able to get off the board in the first one.
