So the Wii is Probably Dropping to $200
Hooray for $50 Off
by Coop

So I thought you should know that the Nintendo Wii is probably dropping to $200. Best Buy and Target both have circulars showing a "New Price!", which isn't to be confused with a sale. One means the store wants to get rid of a bunch of their consoles, and the other means Nintendo is finally taking the gloves off and taking advantage of their system costing $4.56 to make.
When the history books are written, it will be known that Nintendo was the last company to drop the price of their console. Even without multiple SKUs, the Big N has managed to maintain the lead this console generation, something which has only slowed down recently, since Nintendo has apparently decided to stop making games for the console. They're now, once again, the cheapest full-featured console, which is something to smile about. Hopefully games like MadWorld and de Blob will sell now, because god knows they didn't when the system was $250.
The sale will likely go into effect next week during the Tokyo Game Show, so stay tuned for an official word. We'd contact Nintendo for a quote, but last I heard they don't comment on speculation or rumors, so we're going to go ahead and assume mum's the word.

is 200 the new 299?
sweet! i mean, i already have one, but still, it would be a good time to buy one if i didn't.
I've been thinking about a second Wii....
FUCK! I just bought one for my sister...
When I got to work today (Target) I checked the electronics department emails about the price change. It seems to be a permanent thing. This makes it easier to spend the money on my nephew come Christmas time.
