Sony has announced the pricing for SOCOM: Confrontation, the multiplayer only iteration of the Navy Seal simulation series. PlayStation 3 owners should recognize the pricing of the game, as it was the same exact deal with Warhawk when it was released last year.

Here is the breakdown:

• PlayStation Network: $39.99
• Retail: $39.99
• Retail Bundle with PS3 Bluetooth Headset: $59.99
• Navy Seal Bundle, with Pistol and Flippers: Not Real

In case you’re wondering, that’s the exact pricing of Warhawk, down to the dime. They have also revealed that October 14th, 2008 will be the release date, which sets it before LittleBigPlanet and Resistance 2. Why does this matter? Because it means you can pick this bundle up, complete with fantastic and sleek Bluetooth Headset, in time to voice chat with other sockboys and girls over the PlayStation network.

The game doesn’t look all that interesting in my opinion, sort of like a watered down version of Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2. That said, I know that the series has a huge following, so for all of you buying this for the game and not the headset: hurray, good for you, October 14th is just around the corner! !
