I checked the date and checked it again. No, friends, this is not the first of April. And yes, friends, Sonic is going to be a playable character in Super Smash Brothers: Brawl. The video looks amazing and this news is awesome. I couldn't be happier about the way it turned out (or less surprised)! What does this mean for the remaining characters? Will Tails or Knuckles be hidden? Are we doing to see a few Sega assist trophies or anything like that? Will Robotnik be a villain in the single player? Sonic in Smash Brothers is one of those things that makes more questions then it answers... The official website has a few more images but the video shows it all: Sonic is here and ready to kick ass. I personally am more interested in what is going to be third party characters who would NEVER meet fighting. Screw Sonic vs. Mario - there's a whole game of that incoming. I can't wait for Sonic vs. Snake! There are also rumors and rumblings about a January 24th release date for Japan. Weather or not this will translate over to a delay in America is unknown, but knowing how huge our holiday season is I wouldn't be surprised if they are able to get it out.
