It is to no ones surprise that I have put more thought into the character select screen of Super Smash Brothers: Brawl then I have on many more important things in my life. That said I have a large amount of predictions and speculations about what will and what will not make it into the new Brawl when it reaches our shores in February. On Monday and Friday every week from now until, well, until I run out of ideas, I will give one prediction.

December 10, 2007 – NERO OR DANTE

People continue to deny Megaman, but others continue to say Capcom has a part. I doubt it will be a Resident Evil character and with the timing of Super Smash Brothers Brawl being close to Devil May Cry 4’s I can’t help but think there will be some cross promotion going on.

Dante/Nero will play like Link with more juggling skills. His normal attacks will be swordplay and ranged can use his dual pistols, Ebony and Ivory, to get the job done. He could even use some of the fun skills from Devil May Cry 3 like riding on enemies back across the level.

His Final Smash could be a demonic form that tears apart enemies. Reaching into his demon bloodline to have him transform into his fathers form would be very interesting. Dante and Nero could be costume changes of eachother and they would be really cool additions to an already standout lineup.

There is my official prediction: Nero or Dante will be playable characters in Super Smash Brothers: Brawl.
