It is to no ones surprise that I have put more thought into the character select screen of Super Smash Brothers: Brawl then I have on many more important things in my life. That said I have a large amount of predictions and speculations about what will and what will not make it into the new Brawl when it reaches our shores in February. On Monday and Friday every week from now until, well, until I run out of ideas, I will give one prediction.

December 21, 2007 – The SUBSPACE EMISSARY

Nintendo has released another video of the Subspace Emissary, the single player campaign in Super Smash Brothers Brawl. The new, awesome footage made me go back and look at some of the others and I noticed a trend…

It appears that there isn’t really one side for characters in the game. I just assumed that all of the Nintendo characters would be on one side, but from these videos is appears that some Pokémon and characters (namely Bowser) are on the side of the evil, mysterious enemies. I expect to see Wario, Gannon, Dedede, and any other villains put into the game to join their side.

This would make their campaign different then the rest of the characters. Not unheard of in fighters, but a nice addition to the Smash Brothers games would be the campaign from different perspectives, leading to what I can only assume will be an incredibly silly plot.
