Super Smash Brothers Prediction Volume Thirteen

It is to no ones surprise that I have put more thought into the character select screen of Super Smash Brothers: Brawl then I have on many more important things in my life. That said I have a large amount of predictions and speculations about what will and what will not make it into the new Brawl when it reaches our shores in February. On Monday and Friday every week from now until, well, until I run out of ideas, I will give one prediction.

December 17, 2007 – CELDA

I know, I know, no clones. Nintendo keeps telling us that. And yea, I know, Young Link is a shot in the dark. But I think he has a good chance because of how much they made Adult Link a specialty character. His weapons and character model are both ripped straight from Twilight Princess, not generic Zelda Lore. Cell shaded Link would be a fun character with over the top animations that would look bring some more goofiness to the game.

Young Link in this case would look different and have moves from the Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass and the Wind Waker. He wouldn’t have any items his character didn’t use in either of those, and his character model would be cell shaded. Instead of a bow he can use a slingshot, and instead of a hookshot he uses a grappling hook.

His Final Smash could have the stage shot at by cannons from his ship, which is reminiscent of both games he was in. Sound effects of Tetra yelling for Link to “look out” and a barrage of fire hitting the stage would be cool to watch and fun to play.
