It is to no one's surprise that I have put more thought into the character select screen of Super Smash Brothers: Brawl then I have on many more important things in my life. That said I have a large amount of predictions and speculations about what will and what will not make it into the new Brawl when it reaches our shores in February. On Monday and Friday every week from now until, well, until I run out of ideas, I will give one prediction.

October 29, 2007 - GANONDORF

There are plenty of reasons to think Ganondorf will make it into Super Smash Brothers Brawl. For one, he was in Melee. This isn’t a sure fire reason but it means the character is well developed and has a move set. While it wasn’t his own move set it might as well be, as odds are Captain Falcon will end up being left in the dust.

The character model is also already done for him. Nintendo has made it clear they essentially took Link’s model from Twilight Princess for use in Brawl and they would likely do the same with Ganondorf. His character in Zelda looked amazing and it would be a fine addition to the Zelda characters already in the game. They may also completely redo his attacks to be more focused on his character from Twilight Princess in the ways of swordplay.

As for his final smash I think it will be linked to his form changing abilities. It wouldn’t be unlikely that upon grabbing the smash ball he would transform into the beast, Ganon. Ganon would be the piggish character from Twilight Princess and his move set would involve dashing from side to side dealing massive damage to anyone in his wake.

There is my official prediction: Ganondorf will be a playable character in Super Smash Brothers Brawl.
