It is to no ones surprise that I have put more thought into the character select screen of Super Smash Brothers: Brawl then I have on many more important things in my life. That said I have a large amount of predictions and speculations about what will and what will not make it into the new Brawl when it reaches our shores in February. On Monday and Friday every week from now until, well, until I run out of ideas, I will give one prediction. 

 

November 5, 2007 – KRYSTAL

There are two reasons that I believe that Krystal will be in Super Smash Brothers: Brawl. The first reason is because the voice actress who does Krystal recently said she would be in Smash Brothers. Whether this is part of a final smash, a cut scene, or anything else is unknown. I believe it means she is a playable character.

Secondly, with every additional character announced it seems that there is one definite: Nintendo wants to flesh out the franchises it already has in the game. Krystal is an obvious inclusion because it seems that despite the hopes of some fans who wish they could forget Star Fox Adventures, Nintendo doesn’t. They want to make sure that every one of us knows it is part of the franchise and the cannon of Star Fox.

She wouldn’t be a clone of Fox McCould in Smash Brothers but instead she would play more like his character from Star Fox Adventures. Agile and armed with her staff, she has plenty of moves that would be an easy adaptation to Super Smash Brothers. She could use it to attack in melee and use its ranged abilities for other moves. Odds are there would also be a Dinosaur Planet level with stampedes and low flying animals to deal with.

Her Final Smash will likely involve her dinosaur planet roots. Odds are the return of the Tricky and Kyte, her two reptilian companions. They could thrash around the stage killing enemies or even act as defenders for her.

 

 

There is my official prediction: Krystal will be a playable character in Super Smash Brothers Brawl.
