One week ago, if I had seen the trailer above, I would have been really excited for Tales of Monkey Island Chapter 2: The Siege of Spinner Cay. It would have made the wait, which was already difficult, unbearable. It would have reminded me of exactly how much I enjoyed the first game in the series, and how much Telltale seems to love the property. In fact, it likely would have been enough to make me play through the game in anticipation. Since it was released today, it didn't do all of that for me. In fact, seeing the trailer didn't really excite me at all.

Why?

Because I've already beaten Tales of Monkey Island Chapter 2: The Siege of Spinner Cay, so seeing footage of something I've already played doesn't really do much for me.

While I can't say anything about the game thanks to a fancy embargo on my review, I can say this: watch the trailer, get excited, and if you haven't already, for Christ's sake, download Episode 1 to get prepared. I'm not going to say I enjoyed the game, because that would break the embargo, but I can say that I heartily recommend beating Episode 1 in the two days between now and the release. I think you can figure it out on your own. I have faith.
