Team 17 Announces New Worms Game
Worms Reloaded Coming Soon
by Coop

Looks like Team 17 is doing something other than laughing about how bad Worms 3D was. Today, the developer announced a new Worms game in the works for PC entitled Worms Reloaded, and it will be released on Steam "soon." There's no more information as of yet besides the fact that it will, indeed, be a "new edition" and in 2D. In other words, you don't need to worry that they'll try to make it a third-person shooter anytime soon.
As is the case with the strange world we live in, the announcement was actually made via Twitter, because we're that freaking professional. Here's their tweet, for those who don't believe me:
We are pleased to announce a new edition of 2D Worms for PC! "Worms Reloaded" is coming soon via Steam. Details & features to follow.
See? Told you. Hopefully it's as good as the last few 2D games in the series, without the need to wait fourteen minutes for a computer player to make a move. Seriously, for as good as the Worms games are, it's still good to be able to practice against computer players, and the AI in the Worms series has always been either unnaturally good or mindbogglingly stupid. Then again, Steam support should mean that playing online is easier, so it might be a non-issue.
