Over the past week, Valve has slowly revealed information on Team Fortress 2's first dual update, where the Sniper and Spy will both be receiving three new items and a slew of achievements. To commemorate this joyous occasion, Valve has made Team Fortress 2 free for the entire weekend, inviting gamers to jump into one of 2007's best shooters without paying a dime. The unveiling was a bit different than normal, however, and was unorthodox even by Valve's standards.

It started off normally, with the Sniper being given a bow to replace his rifle, and a shield to cover his rear from Spies. The update sparked a bit of controversy on the game's forums, however, since many believed they had found clues early on that the Spy was sneaking up on the unsuspecting Sniper. Images showed a de-cloaking agent within striking distance, but many thought it no more than an Easter egg. As it turned out, the conspiracy theorists were correct, and the Spy eventually took out the Australian and began receiving his own unlockable equipment.

The Meet the Spy video was leaked, a new handcannon was revealed, and it all looked to be winding down. There was still one revelation left, though, and it came in the form of Jarate! The Sniper's piss jars (first shown in the Meet the Sniper video) can be thrown at enemies, causing them to, well, be covered in urine. While covered they take extra damage and must jump into water to cleanse their bodies (but never their minds). On the other hand, it can be thrown at allies to put out a fire, which may or may not be worth the mental damage.

All of this will be available this weekend for free if anyone hasn't already purchased the game. None of the DLC has made its way over to the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 versions of the game, but hopefully they will soon so that foes will know the fury of a man who throws jars or pee.
