Ever since item drops came to Team Fortress 2, people were confused as to why they were able to pick up duplicates. Most wrote it off as a glitch or oversight, but those people don't know Valve. No, these items will be turned into scrap metal, which can then be crafted into new items. That's right, in what might be the biggest patch since Burnout added motorcycles, crafting is coming to Team Fortress 2. Yes, we're serious. Hold on to your butts, people, shit just got real.

Details are scarce, as they usually are with this sort of thing, but we shouldn't have to wait too long to find out what it will entail. The website promises that all sorts of items can be made, and knowing Valve, that means a few dozen new objects. Blueprints will start dropping after the patch, which are required to make said items. They aren't half-assing this, people, this seems to be a huge update, and just one part of the upcoming Soldier/Demoman class update. Very soon, the creation of new objects and modified versions of objects already in there. New guns, hats, sandviches, all the game will be craftable.Seriously, this is an insane update.
