TweetCraft Further Melds Fantasy With Reality
Next Up: FaceCraft, MyCraft, Craftervision...

World of Warcraft players can already order pizza and play Peggle while inside of Azeroth, but now there's one less reason to leave the comfortable world of Warcraft: Twitter. TweetCraft has been released for World of Warcraft, and is a free installation that gives access to Twitter's features from within the game. Not only that, but it's skinned with fitting UI, giving a WoW appearance to the window.
It's a small download (just over 1mb) and can be attained here. If you thought that the social networking website was beneficial for the Iran Election issues, wait until a bunch of World of Warcraft players figure out how to schedule raids through Twitter. The fail whale will never, ever have had such a literal meaning.
If I still played WoW I'd likely be dead on a street corner, a subscription card shoved into my arm. If I somehow survived I'd be all over this, since the last thing I want to do when in a hardcore MMO session is minimize. My only issue is this: why attach it to Twitter? Why not make TweetCraft its own thing that only WoW fans use? It would be an entirely different beast, but somehow I'd be more interested.

A lot of these little addons were user-made that could just be downloaded off of the internet and incorporated into the gui. Blizzard of course is just making them official. Which is probably smart. The less 3rd party additions that people have, the more control Blizzard has over the game experience.
hrm if i still played WOW i woulda loved this!! too bad...
