Two Gamers Sue EA Over Madden
Blatantly Anticompetitive Conduct? EA?
by Coop

In frivolous lawsuit news, two gamers located in Washington, DC and California have filed a suit against Electronic Arts for the Madden series not being as fun as the 2k series. Aright, that isn’t exactly it…
Their arguments make sense if you know nothing about the industry, citing a 70% raise in cost of Madden titles since EA bought the rights to exclusively develop games based on the NFL. That 70% increase they are talking about is from the discounted price of Madden 2005 (which was lowered after launch) at $29.99, compared to the release price of Madden 2006, which was $49.99. Just like every other freaking game released.
They want restitutions for everyone who purchased a Madden game after 2005. Hear that ten million gamers? Get your receipts ready! Chalk this up as two angry gamers who thought they found a loophole, but who actually have done nothing but further bog down the courts with unnecessary and unwarranted lawsuits.
