Ubisoft Announces Jam Sessions 2
Get Your Fake Fake Guitar On
by Coop

Today, Ubisoft announced that they would be publishing a follow-up to their 2007 musical experiment, Jam Sessions. Jam Sessions 2 is due for release in the Fall, and will feature unique DSi support. What kind of support, you ask? I have no freaking idea. It says so on the box, as you can see above, and the press release below also confirms it, but there's no actual information as to what it might be. Maybe I can make funky music videos with the DSi Camera? Who knows. No matter what I'll be picking it up, if not just to get some use out of my fancy new DSi. You know, the one I bought for all of that awesome DSiWare...
Yeah...
UBISOFT® ANNOUNCES JAM SESSIONS 2
SAN FRANCISCO – August 27, 2009 – Ubisoft revealed today that it is releasing a follow-up to its critically acclaimed Jam Sessions video game with Jam Sessions 2 for the Nintendo DS(TM) and Nintendo DSi(TM) systems. Scheduled for release in Fall 2009 in North America, Jam Sessions 2 is a guitar game developed by Plato that makes improving your guitar skills fun and rewarding.
Each song in the gameplay mode serves a different role in advancing players' guitar skills and songwriting abilities. By progressing through the songbook, players learn techniques that will help them play the guitar and write songs. Armed with their new skills, players can play, create and share their own original music with others.
"Ubisoft is pleased to present players of all ages with a music game that builds on the unique foundation of the first title,” said Tony Key, senior vice president of sales and marketing at Ubisoft. "In Jam Sessions 2, players can freestyle sections of featured songs and make them their own. With a push of a button, players' created works can be included in the game play and instantly converted into a playable level.”

Bout time we get something for the DSi. But Jam Sessions?
I actually had a lot of fun with this one. It's cool to ahem jam with... it's also good for writing stuff in places where a guitar is hard to fit.
