What Are You Playing This Week?

02.23.09

This week was brought to you by the color gray.

For casual gaming, though I’ll be posting the review shortly, I think I’m going to spend more time playing LocoRoco 2. It’s addictive not for the same reason a game like Puzzle Quest is, in that it’s difficult and deep, but in the same way sugar is addictive, in that it makes me bounce up and down and smile and dance and sing and cry and laugh and spin around until I fall down but then I get back up again and laugh because I think I threw up in my mouth a little but it’s alright since it was mostly sugar anyway so it kind of tastes really good.
Yeah.

On the review front, I’m going to be a busy, busy boy, working my way through 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand early in the week. I’ve been excited for this game ever since its announcement, hoping the silly story mixed with Unreal’s graphics would end up being a fantastically campy experience. Puzzle Quest: Galactrix is also out, which is good, because I’m a god damned junkie.

Lastly, I need to head to the store to pick up a Dualshock 3 to get some rumble for my PS3 this week. I have extremely high hopes for Killzone 2, especially after finishing F.E.A.R. 2 on Friday; a game that’s received low marks for being a fantastic looking shooter without any real innovation. Comparing the two is bound to be controversial, so look forward to that. I’ll also be starting Eat Lead: The Return of Matt Hazard if it’s actually out this week, as there are conflicting reports surrounding that. It's also my birthday this week (tomorrow), so I'll be playing any gifts that I might receive.

I’ll be sure to jump online for some frantic Killzone 2 multiplayer, which I hope is as successful as it sounds.  What are you playing this week?

well until Friday i will be playing Dead Space (just purchased, chapter 6), NHL 09, P4 (i know i should have already beaten it) and umm well thats it.. but once Friday hits it will be KILLZONE 2 only, so hopefully i see a bunch of you on and we can get to gaming. I would love to have a Killzone 2 GV day, that would be cool.

As usual, I will be playing NHL '09. Yes, I still have not gotten my character into the NHL. I think it's due to the fact that I created a "playmaker" instead of a "sniper", and I am far more interested in scoring goals than in setting them up.

I'm also working my way through each and every mission on GTA IV in order to prepare myself for the Lost and Damned.

And yes, come Friday it's all about Killzone.

@Voyou - a GV Killzone event will be coming. Stay tuned!

I have gotten back into Valkyria Chronicles in a big way. That game is (still) amazing.

Also, I have to play Star Ocean: The Last Hope for review purposes. I'm hoping that the next-gen installment will overhaul the mechanics I didn't like in previous games. I've never been a huge Star Ocean fan, but I still have some hope that this game will be enjoyable.

Then I'm going to steal Puzzle Quest off your desk when you're not looking.

I'm [somewhat] addicted to Valkyria Chronicles at the moment. I'm picking up Killzone 2 as a definite on Wednesday, and I'm going to make some time for Left 4 Dead, Flower and NHL 09.
