Shock *giggle* gripped the industry at the news of Midway's filing of Chapter 11 bankruptcy today, and there are already rumors surrounding the publisher's properties. Part of the restructuring of assets, it seems, might be shifting around some games, there is some chatter around the possibility of The Wheelman being picked up by Ubisoft. No one has commented, but sources seem pre-tty sure that the Assassin's Creed publisher has picked up Vin Diesel's action/racing game.

I might be the only one in the world excited by The Wheelman (read my E3 coverage here), and this move would mean great things for the car-fu title. Midway hasn't exactly had the funds as of recent to let anything stay in development for any amount of time, and it would be great if Ubisoft let Tigon spend a few more months polishing the game for a winter release. Expect an announcement soon either confirming or denying this news.
