Know what sucks about rumors? Every so often the stupid ones end up being true. Pictures are coming in showing Nintendo's Wii MotionPlus device being stuck permanently in the rubber casing that shipped with recent remotes. This means that Nintendo, for fear of another frivolous lawsuit involving idiots with sweaty palms, is forcing gamers to wrap their Wii in a rubber if they want to play MotionPlus enabled games. Yeah, I went with that joke - hope you don't mind.

This bothers me. I've made it three years without throwing the Wiimote through my television, and I'm pretty sure I could have gone three more. Every remote sold comes with a strap and case, so this seems a bit redundant. Hell, every Wii game begins with a thirty second reminder "not to flail aroud like an idiot," a warning I've done a good job heeding.

I, for one, plan on taking out a blade and prying the peripheral free from its rubbery prison as soon as I pick one up. Anyone with me?
