Wii Rock Band 2 Features Online Play, DLC

The How or What is Unknown

by Coop

USA Today is reporting that Rock Band 2's Wii version will feature downloadable content and online play, despite earlier rumblings that this wasn't the case. Not only are they reporting on that, but they updated their story to include it, so it really can't be a typo or misprint. Originally the story mentioned the game’s lack of online features, but was updated with the above news. In journalistic terms, that’s like calling an audible after seeing the defense’s formation.

No news or confirmation has come from Harmonix, but hopefully they found a way to jump over the hard drive space issue. If Samba de Amigo could do it, I don't know why Rock Band 2 couldn't. I don't expect it to be as robust or complete as the other versions, but at least a hint of downloadable music would be a step in the right direction for the neglected waggle-box.

I bet they'll do it just like in My Life as a King: simple in-game menu to purchase content.

Also, it's about time they start getting DLC on there. Limited space isn't an excuse to not include it in any case.
