Wizard World Philly 09: NECA Interested in Brütal Legend Figures
Not Sure if You Are

So Bioshock is getting turned into high-quality toys - awesome. But NECA is looking to the future, and Head of Production Development Randy Falk has a few ideas of what he'd like to see. Namely, he said that they're very interested in doing figures based on Tim Schafer's Brütal Legend. I know, this is incredibly metal, but they're not too sure how interested we are in buying an Eddie Riggs figure.
See, he's really the only big character they could do with the game. Besides him, they could try a few of the other characters (Randy commented that they'd love to do some of the heavy metal gods, and Brütal Legend seems to be an easy way to jump on board with that dream), but none of the game's secondary characters are really well known. For all we know, Ozzy's cameo could only be a few minutes long, and it wouldn't make much sense to make a figure based on that.
This wouldn't be an issue if the main character was a bit... different. The problem is, on the whole, regular looking characters really don't sell that well. It has Schafer's style, to be sure, but he's still a fairly typical human. There's that, and the sad fact that Schafer's games haven't sold very well over the past few years. This can be blamed on many different issues, most aimed at lack of marketing (something EA is looking to avoid), but it's still a worth paying attention to. While this is true, I'm not sure that should stop them, and the best way to get these made might be to be vocal.
What about you? Would you pick up an Eddie Riggs figure? Would you pay a few extra dollars for a nice pre-order or Special Edition bonus?

I would so buy it. I pick up most things NECA makes, I know whatever they do would be awesome. There are some badass-looking enemies in the game that NECA could probably make into figures, too.
