Continue? - Total Carnage

"I'd Buy that for a Dollar!"

by Dominic

Series Continue?

Did you know there was a sequel to the arcade hit Smash TV?  Well there was!  It's called Total Carnage and today we're playing the Super Nintendo port.  Are you ready to face all the carnage that this game has to offer?  We're not sure if we are either.

Every week on Continue?, we sit people down to play a random old school game for 45 minutes. We're talking NES, SNES, Genesis old here. There is one question we are trying to answer - do we want to stop playing or continue?

Good show as usual, guys. A lot shorter than previous episodes though, i am somewhat disappoint. Another thing I'd like to add is that I keep having to put in a birthday to watch your videos :( it gets kinda tedious after awhile.

Id like to put in a request. I would like to see you guys play Rise of The Robots for SNES. That would be hilarious. Do it! Do it NOW! :)

"What the hell el you think?" Hilarious. Also, possibly the greatest epic maneuver ever.

super mega ultra troll face and the buff task force in the house! btw, nice maneuvers when Orca, the bosses of all bosses, shot his freedom seeking missiles at you.

Awesome episode. I insist that you do an episode of "Revolution X", the Aerosmith lightgun shooter. It's on both SNES and PS1, but the Playstation version has way more visual frills.

This game looks awesome. Shame to hear you guys didn't dig it that much. I for one much prefer top down shooters with levels versus top down shooters stuck in arenas. But the greatest of all has to be SNK's Shock Troopers. I prefer Shock Troopers 2, but I believe ST1 is better received.

You should TOTALLY play that one next! It's on SNK Arcade Classics Vol.1 for Wii too - man, it would be sweet if you could tackle that whole game in a "super episode". 16 classic games all in one episode - that would be an epic maneuver! Or Data East Arcade Classics, which has Joe & Mac AND Bad Dudes.

Can you guys play compilation titles? Is it against the "rules"? I remember you guys played E-SWAT on the PS3 Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection...

I've got a new request now....

    It's pretty good.....

    I think you'll enjoy it....

and it'll make a fun episode to watch....

METAL SLUG!!!! Now that's a crazy assed game and available for DL and on quite a few anthologies.

@TrunksX We tried playing Clock Tower. Paul got too scared and wouldn't let us release the episode. Then Dom said "Bloody Mary" into a mirror 5 times. Too scary for the internet. I would only play that game again if we were in the Midnight Society.

    @Daveman

RevolutionX would make an awesome episode, but we already know the verdict on that continue?....

Or even how about resident evil 2

@TrunksX: Dontcha think RE2 is too "new"? I mean, they played NHL....one of 'em, for the PSX. Probably a PSX launch game. But clearly the focus of this retro gaming show seems to be on 16 bit and under, which is great (Game Informer's REPLAY show though went through the entirety of RE2 over there. They play PSX/N64/Dreamcast/Gamecube/PS2 era games mostly).

If only there were more horror games for SNES besides Clock Tower. Demon's Crest is the only thing that comes to my mind, but it's not really horror. It just deals with demons and gargoyles and stuff; more like a Castlevania Symphony of the Night. Just beautiful, crazy, "night creatures". And levels at night in cemeteries and castles (and one castle made entirely of ice) and stuff. It's awesome, and it has a horror aesthetic for sure. But it ain't a "survival horror" game at all.
