Eternal Champions - Continue?

Jetta is the Name of a Car

by Dominic

People seem to only remember two fighting games from the nineties: Street Fighter II and Mortal Kombat. This is a bit of a shame seeing as there were plenty of great fighters produced in that decade. Sega even attempted to enter the genre with their own fighting game Eternal Champions. Street Fighter II and Mortal Kombat stand the test of time, but does Eternal Champions?

Every week on Continue?, we sit people down to play a random old school game for 45 minutes. We're talking NES, SNES, Genesis old here. There is one question we are trying to answer - do we want to stop playing or continue?

I would like to see your take on Brave Fencer Musashi for the play station. It came out around the time of Final Fantasy 7 and I think a lot of people passed it up. I still enjoy it today and wonder if you guys think it stands the test of time as a playable game for this generation.

@Cancerdancer - Sarah brought in Battletoads today! We will see what we can make happen...

@Seamee - I remember that game! We usually steer away from RPG's, but since it is an action RPG it may work out.

I've been watching videos from you guys and the rest of the Gamervision site for a few months now and finally just got the motivation to sign up and say I love every Continue? episode! You guys bring nostalgia and laughs with each one. Thank you and great job! Maybe one day you guys might play Greendog: The Beached Surfer Dude! for the Genesis??? It was one of those games that no body really played, but was pretty cool & fun for its time. The music in it was rockin. It would definitely bring some cheese factor into Continue?

Your name is fun to say in a strained British accent. We will keep a lookout for that game at the flea markets/on the webs, but it sounds like it is pretty obscure! Hopefully we find it and can have some cheesetastic times.

I remember Greendog! The music is fantastic! I've seen it a few times at the flea market. I'll pick it up next time.

Out of this World for Genesis. No need to actually play the game, just watch the intro video over and over again like I did as a kid. Then stab your brother with a pencil.

Awesome Continue?, as usual. This was a good one to do - I can't even remember how many Street Fighter clones there were back in the mid-90's. But I remember Eternal Champions looked like one of the lamest:)
